If you’ve been patiently awaiting a new Steam offering that has all the Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing vibes, then look no further than this upcoming RPG.

If anyone were to mention two of the cosiest games, there’s a good chance that the likes of Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing will be somewhere at the top of those lists.

Since its inception on the Nintendo GameCube in 2001, the Animal Crossing series has been one of the go-to franchises of the simlife genre. Despite being continually taken for a mug by the loan shark in disguise that is Tom Nook, players for generations have had a blast building and maintaining their dream tropical islands.

Then we have Stardew Valley, which, since its release in 2016, has been the poster child for the term indie darling, and much like Animal Crossing, it has provided players with countless memories thriving in the cosiest digitised village as they farm, craft and interact with the charming NPCs until their heart is content.

Could Moonlight Peaks Be a Surprise Hit of 2026?

The upcoming RPG in question (as seen in the subheading above), with all the Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing vibes, is called Moonlight Peaks, developed by Little Chicken. Oh, and it’s one for fans of blood-sucking vampires, too!

“Welcome to your new vampiric life in the magical town of Moonlight Peaks,” reads the synopsis of the game on Steam. “Raise mystical crops, learn spell-casting and potion-making, and befriend – or even romance – the local werewolves, witches, and mermaids in this heartwarming supernatural life-sim. Eternity awaits!”

In all honesty, after watching its gameplay trailers, the Animal Crossing inspiration is clear to see, not to mention the harvesting essence of Stardew Valley. Moonlight Peaks looks like it could be an absolute delight for fans of either game.

What Is the Community Saying About Moonlight Peaks?

“Like a Gothic Fae Farm. Here for it!” declared hellobookworm, in the comments section on YouTube.

“2026, the year I get to play cosy games as a vampire, a human-shaped ditto, and a witch,” said Rosysama143.

“Finally, it's being released, I'm so thankful we're getting it in just a few months,” replied Indievariety.

“Yessssss, my most anticipated game for the last three years finally has a release date. Can’t wait,” exclaimed Priscilladegroot1336.

When Is the Moonlight Peaks Release Date?

Moonlight Peaks arrives next month on 7 July 2026. However, not only is it coming to PC, but also to both Nintendo Switch consoles, as well as Android devices via Google Play.
