If you’re looking for something that blends the mechanical warfare of the acclaimed Gears of War series with the treacherous wastelands of Bethesda’s Fallout, you’re in luck.
You’re going to want to throw The Forever Winter on your Steam wishlist.
Developed by Fun Dog Studios, The Forever Winter is an upcoming co-op tactical survival horror and no, I’ve not stopped singing ‘Forever Winter’ by Taylor Swift in my head since I started writing this article.

This is a very different kettle of fish to the whimsical Swift ditty though.
Here, you and your team will need to “loot the dead to survive under the shadow of terrifying and gargantuan war machines locked in a never-ending conflict.”
It’s played from a third-person perspective and introduces an interesting Dynamic Encounter system.
“Enemies have their own goals and agendas, operating in coordinated groups, undertaking full-scale battles - and they’ll intelligently react to your actions. The battlefield you leave won’t be the same one you return to,” developers explain.

ICYMI: We played snog, marry, irradiate with the cast of Fallout. Take a look below.
You’ll actually be operating as somewhat of a rogue, attempting to disrupt the two warring factions.
The bigger of a threat you become, the more concerned those two factions will be, increasing the chances of them wanting to take you out.

The world collapsed after technological advancement led to a devastating clash between two major military powers.
With hundreds of innocents murdered by AI human-machine hybrids, it’s no wonder you don’t want to join either side of this conflict.
The Forever Winter doesn’t yet have a launch date or window but we’ll be keeping an eye on its progress.
