If you’ve ever wanted to be a detective in a neon sci-fi city, we’ve got the perfect game for you to try.

CD Projekt RED absolutely spoilt us with the release of Cyberpunk 2077. While the title has come a long way since its initial disastrous launch thanks to some stellar post-launch updates, it’s safe to say it’s finally given us the dystopian Bladerunner-style experience gamers always wanted.

Now, the company is moving onto bigger and brighter things, including a sequel for Cyberpunk 2077 made with Unreal Engine 5. Unfortunately, its release date is a long, long time away, meaning some gamers might be on the lookout for another futuristic RPG to occupy their time.

If that sounds like you, look no further than Cyberpunk Detective, an upcoming Steam game that should hopefully scratch your itch for neon-lit confrontation and investigation.

Created by CyberPsychos, Cyberpunk Detective seems like the perfect blend of Cyberpunk 2077’s narrative-driven exploration, combined with detective gameplay reminiscent of Rockstar Games’ LA Noire.

The game’s Steam description reads: “This is a cyberpunk crime fiction game, that will allow you to visit the City and unfold its secrets. You will play as a private detective, one of the dying species, that still seeks for the truth, justice and money. Mostly money.”

Taking a look at the gameplay, it’s got your standard shootouts with armed thugs, all of which are gorgeously illuminated by the neon signs, as well as glimpses at the investigations.

These seem to play out by investigating a crime scene with an array of gadgets, like one that highlights finger and hand prints and lets you track down who they belong to. You’ll also need to interrogate people, seemingly either by talking it out with them or trying more threatening tactics to make them spill what they know.

Cyberpunk Detective looks like it’ll be a solid title, and definitely one to add to your wishlist, though it’s unknown when it’ll launch as there’s currently no release date attached to its Steam page.
