A Command And Conquer: Red Alert 2 remaster could be on the way according to a new letter posted by EA over on Steam.
It would follow the original Command & Conquer: Remastered Collection which landed back in 2020. Developed by Petroglyph Games and Lemon Sky Studios, this fantastic compilation included remastered versions of both 1995’s Command & Conquer and 1996’s Red Alert, landing a very respectable score of 82 over on Metacritic. Given its positive reception, it's fair to say that I imagine a number of us have sat there pondering the possibility of a Red Alert 2 remaster. After all, it’s one of the best entries in the franchise. Lucky for us, EA may have just hinted that one is on the way.
EA has confirmed that a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is now in development.
On 7 March, EA posted a letter to the Command & Conquer community on Steam. It was, in fact, to announce the Command & Conquer Ultimate Collection but that’s not what I’m here to highlight. “After the launch of the first C&C Remastered Collection,” EA began. As pointed out by YouTuber Zade_95, it’s the word “first” that’s led to chatter and speculation seeing as it implies that a second remaster may be on the way.

This surely wouldn’t be referring to the newly announced Command & Conquer Ultimate Collection given that it doesn’t feature any new remastered content. It would make the most sense to tackle Tiberium Sun and Red Alert 2 next but of course, we can only keep our fingers crossed given that this is by no means concrete confirmation.
It’s worth pointing out that it's Command & Conquer’s 30th anniversary next year which would be the perfect time to launch a new release. It’s also the first official update EA has posted in some time, with Reddit user xblood_raven pointing out the phrase, “Until next time”. It’s hard not to get your hopes up. Diving into Red Alert 2 once more would be oh so very exciting.
