If you are a fan of all things Lovecraftian, then you will love this upcoming survival FPS which is set to launch later this month.

Inspired by Lovecraft with gameplay elements taken from the BioShock and Fallout series, Beneath is an upcoming FPS horror title which is guaranteed to stand amongst the greats.

Not only that but ahead of its 27 October release, it is free to download and check out right now.

Developed by Camel 101, Beneath will see you enter a world with scarce ammo reserves, merciless enemies and the complete unknown as you embark on over 10 hours of a story-driven, single-player campaign.

Catering to both veteran players and those who enjoy old-school FPS experiences, Beneath aims to capture the magic of the genre as well as introducing the Lovecraftian horrors that Bloodborne fans will know all too well.

“Beneath is a Lovecraft-inspired survival FPS from a micro studio founded by two brothers, with a lifelong passion in horror and shooters,” the official Steam synopsis reads.

The story follows seasoned diver Noah Quinn whose otherwise routine expedition soon turns into panic when he becomes trapped in the depths of the ocean.

However, Noah soon discovers that an ancient evil accompanies him and as his supplies dwindle, the nightmares within soon begin to emerge.

In order to escape, he must face the eldritch horrors as well as try to uncover a sinister conspiracy that threatens the existence of humanity itself.

“With his daughter’s life hanging in the balance, Noah is pushed to his limits in a desperate race against time. Can he uncover the truth and stop an ancient horror from surfacing, or will the abyss consume them all?”

Navigate the depths of the arctic ocean as you race to find a cure for your daughter all whilst battling both the horrors within and the outward horrors committed by the Omnium Corporation.

In Beneath, survival is key and you will have to manage your resources if you have any chance of making it.

However, with your sanity slipping the longer your ordeal goes on, will you have what it takes to escape before the eldritch horrors overtake both your body and mind?

Beneath is expected to launch fully on 27 October but as mentioned, a free Steam demo is now available to download and try out ahead of full release.

So if you love the eldritch horrors of Bloodborne, combined with the underwater setting of BioShock and the FPS gameplay of Fallout, you will love this brand-new FPS release.
