Skyrim gets brand-new overhaul you can download now

Worth another playthrough?

An overhaul for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has exponentially improved one of its weakest areas, and is a must-download for your PC playthrough.

There’s no denying Skyrim is a good game, and while I’m personally not a fan (I prefer Fallout games), even I can see the appeal of its freedom, lore and seemingly never-ending side quests.

Hopefully The Elder Scrolls VI delivers a worthy sequel

Something Skyrim is also really good for is mods, and while Xbox and PlayStation users don’t have all of the mods available to PC players, there’s enough there to completely change your game for the better.

The mod we’re talking about today is an overhaul mod that improves what’s in my opinion one of the game’s weakest areas, the combat.

It just never gelled with me, which is why I usually went for an archer build to avoid all the senseless swinging needed for melee orientated builds.

The SkyTactics - Dynamic Combat Styles mod improves this though, adding over 80 new combat styles for both you the player and the enemies you’ll be facing in your travels.

These combat styles aren’t just replacements for the typical NPC behaviour you’d see in the base game either, they’re randomised, meaning every enemy you face will behave differently to the one before it.

It even differentiates based on the type of weapon the enemy is holding, whether it’s a one-handed weapon or two-handed.

The mod makes combat encounters far more interesting than they once were, as NPC behaviour could be pretty easily predicted once you’ve been playing for a while and know how to exploit it.

This mod keeps things fresh and makes the enemies feel more life-like, as their combat style will feel more like a reflection of them as an individual rather than what type of enemy they are.

The mod is free to download right now on NexusMods, and feels like a big enough change to warrant another playthrough of Skyrim, if you were looking for a reason.
