There are plenty of Skyrim secrets that can prove deadly, however, few are quite so funny in their lethality.

Bethesda did a fine job of filling The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim with a diverse mix of creatures and events that can kill you.

It’s part of the game’s charm.

That and taking an arrow to the knee.

But as we’re learning, there are funnier ways to bite the dust, and they come from the most unlikely sources.

There are plenty of other Skyrim wins and fails to check out, if you're in the mood for a laugh

If you thought investigating a hidden tunnel was nerve-racking, try eating something in-game.

Remember that time a player devoured every in-game food item just to see what would happen?

Well, if they'd tasted this ingredient, the sweet release of death would have been much quicker and less explosive.

Revealed by Reddit user Xav-Tay-Tor-Tot, there’s a recipe for ‘Sunlight Souffle’ that would instantly kill you.

The reason for this is because it includes a whole cup of nutmeg.

“For those unaware, nutmeg contains myristicin, a naturally occurring and psychoactive compound,” the OP explains, “Consuming as little as five grams (less than a tablespoon) of ground nutmeg can be toxic.”

“I'm willing to wager that this was written in as a joke play on the fact that you poison the emperor by disguising it in the gourmet's signature dish, and yet simply just eating one of the gourmet's dishes as described in his own book, would kill you regardless.”

Naturally, hilarity ensued.

“I'll try this recipe and get back to you on that,” joked HG_Shurtugal, to which someone said they’d get a ouija board so they could “discuss it further”.

User Slow_Fish2601 said, “Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.”

The most disturbing thing about this discovery, though, is that there’s eggs included in that recipe. How is it a souffle?!
