Resident Evil remakes are arguably the gold-standard when it comes to bringing a classic game back for a modern audience, and Capcom doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.
While many fans would love to see Capcom revisit some of its other popular franchises like Dino Crisis, many are happy to see the Resident Evil games continue to receive remakes for the time being.
The most recent remake and arguably the most popular is Resident Evil 4 (2023)
At the end of Resident Evil 4 (2023) it was basically confirmed in the end-credits scene that Resident Evil 5 will be next, but that may not be the case.

According to leaks, Capcom will be going back a few years to the events of the least popular Resident Evil game, Resident Evil 0.
Now I’ll be honest I own this one for the Nintendo GameCube but haven’t played it yet, and that may be for the best as I’ve rarely seen anyone sing its praises.
That said surely that’s the whole reason you’d remake a game right? To fix the mistakes and let it be the game it was intended for?
In addition to this leak it’s also said it’ll be coming to more consoles than Xbox, PlayStation and of course PC.

Apparently it’ll also be a title on the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo’s currently unannounced console which has also seen its own wave of leaks.
Renowned Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem speculated as much, saying “I think it’s highly likely that Capcom will strike a marketing deal with Nintendo on their big reimagining of Resident Evil 0 … It should make a good entry point to the franchise.”
With the OG Resident Evil 0 being a Nintendo GameCube exclusive, it’d only make sense for the remake to launch on Nintendo’s next major console, maybe not as an exclusive though, that seems a bit silly.
