Red Dead Redemption has a wild Star Wars connection you never realised

The Force is everywhere

Despite connecting so many dots of lore in Red Dead Redemption, there’s one that we failed to see until now.

There are so many encounters, both on-screen and off-screen, that make Red Dead Redemption such a gripping franchise.

As a result, we collectively go on a journey together each time we play and discover something new.

When Rockstar Games fans realised John Marston also had a daughter, they were left reeling.

In a similar vein, when the fandom witnessed a “nightmarish open-world encounter”, that too rocked them to their core.

Turns out, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace gets around

This latest discovery, while not obvious at first, is no less impressive because of that fact.

On Reddit, in a post that’s since been removed, user gracekk24PL made a connection none of us dared to dream of.

They revealed that there’s “a chance” John’s son, Jack, “lived long enough” to watch Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

None of us even thought to consider a connection between Red Dead Redemption and Star Wars.

Not only do we now know what became of Jack after the events of RDR1 and RDR2 ended, but we also know he might have been a fan of wizards in space.

The things you learn...!

As is the way of the internet, there’s always someone to wedge a spanner into our hopes and dreams.

This time, the spanner is the possibility that Jack didn’t survive the first or second World Wars.

“There’s a chance [Jack watched the film] if Jack stayed away from WW1 and WW2,” argued helloimrandomnumbers.

If you take Jack’s future endeavours, as mentioned earlier in this article, then he must have survived in order to pursue the career he did.

That being said, as it isn’t canon, what became of Jack and his possible love of sci-fi must remain as an intriguing what-if deep dive.

Still, it makes for a fun conversation with friends to wonder if Jack enjoyed the prequel or not.
