The Last Of Us Part 3 is, presumably, making steady progress over at Naughty Dog though it’s likely not in full development as of yet.
The studio has been pretty quiet about the whole thing in light of its next major game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, but we all know it’s happening as there is so much story left to tell.
For many, The Last Of Us Part 3 will be one of the biggest video game releases of all-time, and for some it’s one of the few things keeping them going.
Take this old post by shawak456 for example. In it, the user shared a video of Neil Druckmann talking about what the future holds for the franchise, adding “I cannot express the joy TLOU Part 3's mere existence brings me.”

Seven months on and there are unfortunately no updates to share, apart from a tease stating the HBO series could run for several additional seasons, despite it already being half way through The Last Of Us Part 2’s storyline.
A lot of the commenters on the aforementioned post had some pretty interesting things to say about the third game, like one who hopes “the next one's happier. Like I know it's not supposed to be all unicorns and rainbows but the second one seems like it can be just a little too depressing at times.”
Not sure how you’d make a series about humanity surviving an apocalypse lighter but hey, maybe it can be done.
It’s safe to say The Last Of Us Part 3 is still several years out though. We’ll wait for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet to come out first and get a lay of the land and then hopefully the third (possibly final) entry in The Last Of Us will be ready to reveal itself.
