PS5 drops free access to major AAA shooter for a limited time

What a way to celebrate its 10-year anniversary

Rainbow Six Siege has been a staple game in the tactical shooter genre since it was first released back in 2015 but Ubisoft Montreal has some exciting changes coming that you can try out right now.

First launched a decade ago, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege has retained its popularity with players still flocking to the tactical shooter to this day.

However, Siege X, the new version of Rainbow Six Siege, is on the horizon but before it launches as a free-to-play title in June 2025, some lucky fans can gain access to the closed beta.

Starting yesterday, 13 March, the closed beta will allow fans to try out the brand-new 6v6 game mode known as Dual Front.

The game mode will see players able to respawn and overall introduces a new tactical experience for veterans and new players alike.

The closed beta runs from 13 March, starting at 12 PM PT/3 PM ET and will end at the same time on 19 March and here is how you will be able to enter.

First and foremost, you will have to have a Twitch account and link it to your Ubisoft account.

You can then watch a Rainbow Six Siege X content creator who is streaming the new mode and has drops enabled throughout the week.

By just watching, you will soon receive a Twitch drop which will gain you access to the closed beta upon redeeming.

Last but not least, the closed beta can be accessed on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Ubisoft Connect.

If you do not already own Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, you can still play Siege X via the beta so don’t worry.

With Siege X reportedly the “biggest evolution” of Rainbow Six so far, this is not one to miss out on.

Not only will it feature an “enhanced player experience” but it will also come alongside gameplay changes and a visual overhaul which will be the perfect way to celebrate its 10-year anniversary this December.
