This is an unexpected little treat.

Those of you who owned an original PlayStation may recall the PS1 classic The Legend Dragoon.

Developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, this 1999 RPG transported players to the fictional world of Endiness where they’d take on the role of Dart, leader of a group of warriors tasked with harnessing the power of dragons in a bid to put a stop to evil forces.

In early 2023, the beloved title finally made its grand return courtesy of PlayStation Plus’ premium tier, although you can pick it up in the PlayStation Store too.

That iteration introduced up-rendering, a rewind feature, quick save feature, and custom filters, breathing new life into this gem.

And now, almost two years on, another surprise update has arrived for the title, rolling out across PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles.

ICYMI: God of War Ragnarök recently landed on PlayStation Plus’ extra tier.

When the game relaunched in 2023, it did bring with it several new issues which this latest patch essentially seeks to iron out.

Better late than never, eh?

Update 1.000.004 arrived unannounced. In fact, developers still haven’t realised any patch notes.

Thankfully, as reported by MP1ST, fans know exactly what’s been addressed having noticed several issues no longer plague the game.

Jittering blue lines surrounding objects are no longer present, nor will strange text appear following characters’ names.

Muffled battle sound effects have been fixed, as have instances where battle lines didn’t play at all.

Finally, where Rose’s magic attacks would cause the game to crash, that is now reportedly no longer the case.

I urge you to give The Legend of Dragoon a go if you haven’t already.

Its arrival on modern consoles was hugely welcomed as there was a point in time when physical copies would cost you triple-figures secondhand.

Admittedly, that’s likely still the case if you want the OG for your collection, but if you just want to experience the game, hop on over to the PlayStation Store or PlayStation Plus.
