PlayStation Plus Users, You Can Grab a Bonus Freebie Right Now

If it's free, then it's for me.

PlayStation Plus has always had a little variability in its monthly offerings, often oscillating between genuinely brilliant and downright disappointing.

The games for Extra and Premium subscribers in September 2025 have been announced and, while it's a bit of a middling selection overall, there is great value for money in the amount of time that it should keep you entertained.

The biggest contributor to that is Fate/Samurai Remnant, with the main story and completion running to about 70 hours, according to HowLongToBeat.com, and it's a really solid RPG that justifies its runtime for the most part.

Whilst you could absolutely be forgiven for thinking that the freebies stop there, it's also possible to download a DLC for the game as part of your PlayStation Plus subscription, regardless of whether you're signed up to the Extra or Premium tiers.

As first reported by PlayStation Lifestyle, players can claim Fate/Samurai Remnant Phantasmal Dress “Miyamoto Musashi” from the PlayStation Store which, as you would expect, adds a unique outfit for Musashi, a servant in the game.

Adding it to the character once it has been claimed from the store is slightly more complex than it needed to be though, so here's what you have to do to get the character into the outfit. First, you'll need to actually meet the character in the game (which does happen fairly early anyway). After that, you'll need to head to the house and find the bookshelf, and in the menu that opens up there, you should be able to change her costume.

If you've got no idea what we're on about or what Fate/Samurai Remnant is, it's a behemoth RPG from publisher Koei Tecmo, that follows Miyamoto Iori, a peacekeeping ronin who is chosen to participate in the Waxing Moon Ritual. We won't spoil the story but it has everything you'd expect, from vengeance to betrayal, and it's a solid effort that's well worth trying if you're a fan of hack and slash gameplay.

The other offerings for PlayStation Plus subscribers this month were a little weak, but there are some that stand out above their immediate peers. The most obvious is Crow Country, a survival horror where you're regularly tested by puzzles and cryptic gameplay. It's one of the very best examples of the genre and should be on the must play list for most.

Our other two picks would be WWE 2K25 (for all its flaws) and Persona 5 Tactica, if neither of the two above capture your imagination.
