Whether subscribers find value in each month of the PlayStation Plus offerings is subjective but some months are most certainly better than others, it has to be said.

However, sure this month won't be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s fair to say that the PS Plus February 2024 games have gotten off to a solid start. This month the PS Plus Essential line-up will have the new competitive multiplayer game Foamstars inspired by Splatoon, the action sports game Rollerdrome and finally, the action RPG Steelrising.

Check out the Foamstars trailer below!

In our review of Rollerdrome, we said, “It’s an incredible sport and action game, with fun lore pieces to ponder while you’re not catching air, grinding lips and shotgunning opponents. To put it simply, don’t miss out on Rollerdrome.”

Other than the aforementioned Rollerdrome, let’s learn a little more about the other two titles, Foamstars and Steelrising. Foamstars is a 4v4 online party shooter in which you “use foam to build terrain, creating slippery surfaces to surf around the arena at high speed, help defend from enemy attacks, or create vantage points to take out opponents. And most importantly, to foam up the opposition!”

As for Steelrising, which seems to be one for Soulsborne fans, it is set in “Paris, 1789. The French Revolution has been suppressed with bloodshed by Louis XVI and his merciless mechanical army. Aegis, a mysterious automaton masterpiece, must confront the king's army alone to save history in this challenging action RPG.”

Redditors have been discussing the games included in PS Plus Essential February 2024 and for the most part, they like what they see. “I wanted to try Rollerdome so that’s something at least. Guess I’ll try out Foamstars,” said walshurmouthout.

“Rollerdrome is great. It’s Jet Set Radio meets Tony Hawk's Pro Skater meets Max Payne. A combo I never knew I wanted. It’s a blast,” exclaimed Axle_65. “Rollerdrome works for me, and I'll at least try out Foamstars. Already own Steelrising, but that's a fine addition for others as well,” replied Gaia093.

The PlayStation Plus Essential games for February 2024 arrive on Tuesday, 6 February.
