Ever since Sony evolved its PlayStation Plus subscription service into a three-tiered model in June 2022, it has offered even more value for our money each month with new additions constantly being added to its library, probably more than we can handle.

The three subscription tiers are Essential, Extra and Premium. The higher the PS Plus tier that you subscribe to, the more games, goodies and bonus perks you’ll have available. Yet, regardless of the tier, a new flurry of games is announced each month and the latest offerings that have been announced for PS Plus Extra and Premium include 19 more free games for December 2023.

Check out the GTA V trailer below!

Some of the games in this month's PS Plus Extra and Premium include Strangers of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, MotoGP 23, Metal: Hellsinger, Mega Man 11 and more. The biggest inclusion this month is GTA V from Rockstar Games. Granted, this game is essentially 10 years old at this point. However, if you’re looking for an excuse to jump back into Los Santos ahead of GTA VI, then this enhanced PS5 version offers that very opportunity.

In total, the games offered in PS Plus December 2023, including the Essential tier can quite easily exceed 500 hours worth of gameplay. Take for example GTA V, according to 'How Long to Beat?', the single-player campaign can last up to 80+ hours or in my case, much longer if you fully immerse yourself in its world. Furthermore, when you throw GTA Online into the mix with its ever-expanding world, it alone easily exceeds GTA V, and that’s not even including all the games offered across all three tiers this month.

I think it's fair to say that even without the inclusion of GTA V, December 2023’s PlayStation Plus line-up offers value for money, and then some. With this month’s PS Plus offering plenty of bangers, we can’t wait to see what the new year brings. So Sony, please don’t drop the ball as we’d love our new year to begin with a bang.

Grand Theft Auto V is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Oh and by the way, GTA V is also currently included in Xbox Game Pass.
