PlayStation Plus New Free Game is 'Breathtaking', Fans Agree

I'm just confused why it took so long to add it to PS Plus

PlayStation Plus fans seem particularly excited about the latest game to land on the service, although I can’t help but wonder why it took so long for it to come to the service in the first place.

Earlier this week, during the PlayStation State of Play showcase, Sony decided to drop the upcoming PlayStation Plus line-up for October, and they squeezed more than a few bangers in there.

On the PlayStation Plus Essential Monthly Games side of things, subscribers are being treated to Alan Wake 2, Cocoon and Goat Simulator 3. PlayStation Plus Premium members are also getting a few heaters, including Tekken 3, Soulcalibur 3, and Tomb Raider Anniversary.

But it’s the PlayStation Plus Extra offering that’s getting players in a thread over on the r/PlayStationPlus subreddit extra hyped, because somehow most of them haven’t gotten around to playing The Last of Us Part II yet.

“Playing The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PS5 feels incredible. The graphics upgrade is stunning, gameplay runs buttery smooth, and the cinematics with breathtaking views make the story hit even harder”, writes user Altruistic-Rate-3567.

“I’ve been waiting to get a better monitor to play the first one again, glad they did this because I never played the second so I’ll get to see it in its best form”, replied user TheRealStevo2.

“Truly the definitive way to experience this masterpiece again after 5 years.”

“Yeah I'm playing since it first released on PS4 and my god the gameplay really shines and it looks so great. I love playing at 60 fps and not having my console being louder than my air conditioner”, commented user Yeetus_08.

I know the public sentiment towards The Last of Us has soured a little bit over the years (as some of the comments in that thread prove), due to some folks issues with The Last of Us Part II’s story and the latest season of HBO’s The Last of Us TV series, but man… I still think that game slaps.

Regardless of your thoughts on the story, the gameplay is just so tight. And if you’ve yet to try it yet, the No Return mode is an absolute blast.

I’ve just gotta wonder what’s taking Sony so long to introduce some of their most famous games like this to the service. I mean, you guys literally own Naughty Dog. How come it’s taken you like five years to add it to PlayStation Plus?
