With Christmas having just left us, there are a lot of new PlayStation players who were gifted a console for the holidays.
The chances are high that they grabbed themselves a subscription to PlayStation Plus, which opens up a vast catalogue of games to play, but where do you start?
We loved Returnal - it's a stand-out game for PlayStation players worldwide
When a similar question was asked of Reddit - asking people to point out underrated gems - players were quick to point out their recommendations en masse.

As ever, some great games were mentioned and form a list of ‘must-play’ titles on the PlayStation subscription service.
“Night in the Woods. It's got a really nice art style,” is recommended by tobster239 as the top comment in the thread.
I heartily agree with CallMeZaid69 who says, “Guardians of the Galaxy, why does no one talk about it?” It’s a properly good time.
Inscryption is recommended by multiple people as an engaging roguelike card game with a dark twist and horror style.

One Redditor calls Inscryption, “One of my fav gaming experiences of the last few years.”
“Dave the Diver!” exclaims cloud-upbeat814 - another that I would happily back as one to try out, especially if you like some restaurant simulation mixed into underwater exploration.
Here’s one from mrblonde55 is, “Death’s Door - 3d isomeric Zelda-like/metroidvania, and a very well-made one at that.”
The whole thread is filled with wonderful recommendations from players who are eager to sing the praises of great games.

It can be overwhelming when faced with so many options, as there’s literally hundreds of games to play via PlayStation Plus.
While I perhaps wouldn’t call it “underrated” many people are shouting out one particular game, but I’ll leave it to Felloffarock, who says, “Returnal - hands down one of the best games on PS5 let alone from the game catalogue.”
