Ghost Of Tsushima meets Baldur’s Gate 3 in free PlayStation Plus game

A classic game like this demands respect

Tacticians, stealthy rogues, and puzzle-solving whizz kids, we have a free PlayStation Plus game that’s perfect for you, and it combines traits from two popular games.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is a “hardcore tactical stealth game” that will test your skills to the max as you attack from the shadows to surprise your oblivious enemies. For those of you who’ve been enjoying sneaking into the shadows as you roam the locations of Baldur’s Gate 3, this will be a dream come true for you, especially because it cuts out the narrative parts to get to the tactical goods.

Make sure to watch the gameplay trailer for Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun!

Of course, it would be wrong of us to talk about Shadow Tactics without mentioning how enticing a game it is for fans of PlayStation’s Ghost of Tsushima, arguably one of the best-looking PS5 games – the vibes, the brooding atmosphere, it’s all there, albeit in a top-down tactical format.

Having amassed an “overwhelmingly positive” score on Steam, now that Shadow Tactics is available for free via PS Plus, there’s no excuse not to explore the intricacies of Japan during the Edo period.

“Shadow Tactics on paper seems like a niche title for a very particular group of strategy nerds,” explained one fan. “In reality, it is more akin to something like Portal – enjoyable for almost everyone – just not something you realise you'd like until you try it.”

“Very fun game, very good design (levels, abilities, characters), almost nothing seemed tedious or filler like; multiple ways to achieve objectives, allows a lot of creativity and exploration,” shared another player.

It feels like we’re finally entering PS Plus’ redemption arc, not just because we can play Shadow Tactics, but because there are classic titles being added to the service. Maybe this good spell of games won’t last long, but we’re going to savour it while we can.
