If you’re a retro gamer and have access to a PlayStation Portal, a new benefit has just hit the system.
PlayStation Portal is a handy device for those who enjoy handheld gaming and have an excellent home Wi-Fi setup.
Although it doesn’t run games natively, the streaming quality is pretty clear and smooth. And it can mean you’re able to play Astro Bot in bed. Winner!

Here's all you need to know about the PS5 cloud streaming beta.
As of last year, PlayStation began a beta that allowed users to start streaming games directly from the cloud rather than using a PS5 to stream from.
And now, it appears that the list of games compatible with the feature has expanded.

According to TrueTrophies, Sony has made new games available to stream directly to the PlayStation Portal, with 32 PSP games and nearly all the PS1 library accessible.
This is added onto the initial 50 PS5 games that were originally included in the beta.
TrueTrophies notes this list includes games like Ape Escape and Killzone Liberation, but doesn’t include the PS1-emulated versions of Worms, Worms Armageddon, Grandia, or Harvest Moon Back to Nature. It also doesn't feature Disney Pixar's Up and Toy Story 3 from the PSP selection.
The only other catch is you need an active subscription to PlayStation Plus Premium to access these games. Those servers ain’t cheap!

There’s some hope that eventually this list will reach the point where users can stream any game on PlayStation Plus without the need for using a PS5, similar to how Xbox Cloud Gaming currently works.
For Xbox, any user with an active Game Pass Ultimate subscription can stream nearly every game on Game Pass, as well as a select few AAA titles that you can buy.
It’s a handy service if you’re midway through Avowed and just want to play a bit in bed.
If you were on the fence about getting a PlayStation Portal, this may or may not sway your decision.

But if the service continues to grow like this, it does mean that we could be streaming more PlayStation games to our handheld and mobile devices in the future.
