After months of teasing, a new OG PlayStation model (named the SuperStation One) has finally been revealed in all of its glory - and people are absolutely chomping at the bit to grab one (before they run out).
So, what exactly is the “SuperStation One”? Probably best I let the man who designed it, Taki Udon, take the lead on this one.
“The world's first affordable FPGA gaming console,” Udon revealed in a post on BlueSky.

“Inspired by the PS one. Supports PS1 games, memory cards, and controllers. Analog/Digital output. NFC/WiFi/BT. MiSTer FPGA compatible. Disc support not pictured. Pricing starts at $149 for founders and friends.”
Ok, so, it’s just a fancy PS1, right? Sort of, but there is a little bit more to it.
It’s the “FPGA” part that’s the main selling point. FPGA stands for "Field Programmable Gate Arrays," which (in extremely simple terms) essentially means that the SuperStation One's hardware can be reconfigured and altered in ways to fit the owner's needs.
However, that’s not all… as Taki Udon also revealed in a new post that they’re also manufacturing a new "transparent blue" model of the SuperStation One, which has naturally excited a lot of folks in the comments.

“Yes! I was on the fence, but this is an instant buy,” replied user @palody.bsky.social, “I used to have a darker Midnight Blue PS2 and it was gorgeous.”
“Yes, also no reply is needed when it looks that good,” commented user @goon0x.bsky.social.
However, it’s not all good news.
As many folks in the comments have noticed, the SuperStation One is actually going to go on sale in the early hours of the morning if you’re in Europe.

Considering there’s going to be a limited number of these bad boys, that means you’ll potentially have to stay up until around 3AM just to buy one - otherwise, the Americans will take all of them for themselves.
