PlayStation gamer will lose free store credit if they don't update new setting

PlayStation gamer will lose free store credit if they don't update new setting

Sony has done it again

Sony has done it again and unsurprisingly, it is its PlayStation Stars membership scheme that is under scrutiny yet again.

Although PlayStation Stars has previously allowed members to earn free points which can then be exchanged for free store credit in the past, new changes will make this a whole lot harder.

Which kind of negates the point of it at all but what do I know?

In the past, points have been able to be earned through purchasing select PlayStation games or taking part in various challenges.

Points could be stored and saved up until players earned enough to exchange it for free store credit, which resulted in some members being able to grab games for absolutely free.

However, recent changes to PlayStation Stars has seen a time-frame added as well as the announcement that subscription payments will no longer earn you points.

That being said, earning points will not be possible at all unless members update a brand-new setting.

Thanks to the recent update, PlayStation Stars members will have to accept the new Terms of Service within the phone app or they will no longer be able to earn rewards.

So much so, that if you don’t accept the new terms, your subscription will be considered deactivated until you do so it’s pretty damn important.

If the new Terms of Service message does not pop up automatically, it can be found on the app by heading to the PS Stars logo at the top.

Once here, the message should pop up and once accepted, you can begin earning points once more.

Pretty simple but easily missed as it can only be done through the app, rather than the PlayStation console.

With Sony making some questionable choices with the already-controversial app in recent months, let us hope it only gets better from here.
