PlayStation Stars may be a way for members to earn free store credit but after an outage earlier this year and now a series of bugs, it is not the most stable of schemes.
For those not in the know, PlayStation Stars is a free loyalty scheme accessible for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users.

It allows members to play and buy games or take part in select challenges in order to receive points.

The points can then be accumulated and exchanged for free store credit and as a result, members have been able to get brand-new releases for absolutely free.
PS Stars experienced an outage earlier this year which saw members rewarded with points as a consolation prize.
However, it seems as though something has gone wrong yet again in recent days as multiple PlayStation users have reported receiving way more points than normal.
Usually, PS Stars members are rewarded 50 points for playing any of PlayStation Plus’ monthly games.

However, one user over on r/playstationstars has shared a screenshot which shows the reward now being increased to 250.
Either this is a glitch or Sony are feeling a lot more generous lately.
Not only that but another user shared a similar screenshot which revealed that anybody playing a select mystery game could receive a whopping 500 points.
With previous rewards being 1/10 of this, this is quite the surprise and it is no wonder that many members believe this is merely a glitch.

“Had a similar thing last month, I gained 500pts for playing a Tomb Raider game,” one comment read.
“Was rare but I wasn't the only one who had it. Seemed like a random bug, not region specific. This one's 50pts for me though.”
Another said: “Says 50 for me. But it's bugged anyway, so I don't get anything.”
Sony has yet to address this glitch but be warned that it is very unlikely that you will be receiving 750 points that easily using PS Stars.
