PlayStation 6 Official Release Window Update Met With Odd Response

Unexpected...

The PlayStation 5 has been out for five years now, which is amazing to think about because it really hasn’t felt like half a decade.

I’m sure many PlayStation users will agree as one of the biggest criticisms for this current generation of gaming is hardly any new games to take advantage of the latest hardware.

There've been a lot of remasters and remakes, which PlayStation has been very guilty of with some of its latest The Last Of Us releases…

PlayStation is looking towards the future though and uploaded a video all about new hardware on its official YouTube channel. But while you’d think the discussion would be about the PlayStation 6, the fans had another topic they wanted to discuss instead, lead system architect Mark Cerny and his oddly soothing voice…

Cerny spoke a lot about the intricacies of designing the latest PlayStation hardware and what new developments could mean for the future, and while it was very interesting viewers just couldn’t get over his soft-spoken voice and chill vibes.

“Mark Cerny is so relaxing to listen to idk why. I guess it's his cadence and the fact he always knows exactly what he's talking about” pondered one viewer.

Some joked that his voice would be ideal for an ASMR video series, saying things like “Hi, I'm Mark Cerny, welcome to my ASMR channel, today we will talk about the PlayStation 6 and the future of gaming” and “I really want Mark Cerny to do an ASMR version. What a calming voice”

Another comment read: "Probably out of topic, but Mark Cerny is probably one of the best in the Industry in terms of technical communications, I probably won't mind listening to Mark Cerny talking about future gaming GPU for HOURS.”

The majority of comments were all about Cerny rather than the hardware he was there to discuss.

Go look for yourself and all you’ll see is “Mark Cerny is one of the coolest nerds in the industry” and “Mark Cerny's aura is simply unmatched” or even “Mark is like the Bob Ross of gaming.”

It was unexpected but not unpleasant, as behind the jokes there’s clearly a genuine admiration for Mark Cerny and his views on the future of gaming.

The PlayStation 6 is rumoured for launch in 2027 and will hopefully bring about a better console generation than the one it’ll leave behind.
