PlayStation 6 first major feature quietly confirmed

PlayStation 6 first major feature quietly confirmed

Hold up, rewind here

A new patent has been filed by Sony that may hint at an upcoming feature for the PlayStation 6.

As per a report by Tech4Gamers, this new Sony patent is for a rewind button.

This would be a feature accessible via the PlayStation controller, designed to allow gamers to rewind their favourite bits of gameplay.

Soon Aloy will be back in LEGO Horizon Adventures

“The user is able to enter the rewind mode from the live gameplay using one or more controller inputs to view recent game play (e.g. rewinding, fast-forwarding, playing, etc.), and returning to live game play afterwards,” the patent reads.

Technically, you can rewind specific moments in a select few PlayStation titles already, however, it’s by no means an easy or simple task.

The patent continues, “Accessing recent game play while the player is playing a video game is difficult, and requires hacking an existing service to view the portion of the game play of interest.”

By introducing a major feature like this to the PS6, Sony would separate itself from the rest of the herd.

The discovery of the patent is exciting, but let’s be clear here: this feature may never come to pass.

Plenty of patents are filed that never become more than an idea.

We hope that this one does become a PS6 feature, for it sounds like an ideal addition to the console, and one that would make capturing and revisiting your gameplay far easier.

In-keeping with enhanced gaming experiences, the PS5 Pro is almost here, meaning it’s time to find the best deals on the internet.

Luckily, we’ve got you covered. We’ve taken the time to look for the cheapest preorders out there, so if you don’t want to wait years for console advancements now is the time to act.

As incredible as the PS5 Pro may be, it doesn’t have a rewind feature.

If you’re interested in that particular addition, you want to hope that this patent eventually becomes a PS6 reality.
