A couple have gone viral online after inviting Sony to their wedding, and received a bunch of free games as a result.

When Kirsten Discipulo and her fiancé Aidan were planning their wedding, they thought it would be a great idea to send out a wedding invitation to Sony as a tribute to all the years they spent gaming together.

What happened next was rather unexpected, though. Good Guy Sony received the invitation, and decided to send a message back wishing the couple well on their upcoming nuptials.

And what’s more, the company was also able to send them some free games as a wedding gift, which came included with the letter.

PlayStation Has Surprised Her With A Load Of Free Games

Sharing the moment on Instagram in a reel that has now been watched by more than 900,000 viewers [thanks, Dexerto], Discipulo added the caption: “Happy crying because @PlayStation sent us a hand written card and free games for our wedding”.

Underneath the post, she wrote: “THANK YOU @playstation! That was so thoughtful of you guys we’ve loved PlayStation since we were kids”.

“Aidan and Kirsten, congratulations on your marriage” reads the hand-written message, followed by a printed message which reads: “Congratulations and Thank you for playing with us”.

Included with the package are digital codes for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Fortnite – Cobalt Star Bundle, Horizon: Call of the Mountain on PS5 and at least two other games where the video cuts off before they are revealed.

A nice gesture on behalf of PlayStation, for sure, but now I’m worried about Sony’s PR department being flooded with wedding invitations by fans in the hopes of receiving a load of free games.

Because of that, something tells me that this is more of a one-off gift rather than something that Sony would do regularly for everyone.

Still, we can at least be pleased for the happy couple that Sony was able to make their day a little more special.

There’s no doubt the two betrothed would have tuned into the Sony State of Play from last week, featuring announcements, updates and reveals of new and upcoming PlayStation 5 games.

Most notably, a remake of the original God of War trilogy was announced, as well as a new John Wick game and Ghost of Yotei’s multiplayer DLC getting a release date. All-in-all, there's quite a bit here to get excited about.
