The PlayStation 5 Pro may be the latest console on the market from Sony but for those still looking for its base model, there is currently an epic deal going on.

It is hard not to experience FOMO when the gaming community is unboxing a brand-new console but that has definitely been the case over recent days with the arrival of the PlayStation 5 Pro.

Check out Sony's brand-new console, the PlayStation 5 Pro, below!

The sleeker and more powerful machine has already been the victim of scalpers but on a more positive note, has also seen some of our favourite games receive graphical overhauls.

That being said, the base PlayStation 5 is still a must-buy console and not just because it is the home of some amazing exclusives such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Astro Bot to name a few.

On top of that, Christmas is almost upon us and the PlayStation 5 would make the ultimate gift for the gamers in your life.

However, they are not cheap but this current deal will make things a lot easier on your bank account.

As of this week, Sony has cut the price of the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console in the United States for a limited time.

Although the offer is set to run until 24 December, it is also “whilst stocks last” so you had better hurry.

With the disc-free console usually coming in at $449.99, this offer sees an impressive $70 knocked off the price, meaning it comes in at a much more respectable $379.99.

Not only that, but $379.99 is a lot more affordable than the PlayStation 5 Pro console that currently retails at an eye watering $699.99.

Despite the deal, players are still feeling disheartened that the future of PlayStation, and consoles in general, seems to be digital.

Taking to Twitter, one user said, “Succkkkkers. PS users were the loudest group talking about game preservation and physical games. But the last four years, Sony has been slowly easing y'all into digital. To the point where the PS5 Pro is a digital machine with a disc drive add-on, for extra [money].”

However, another user is fed up with all of the criticism.

“Price went down and they're still finding something to be mad about,” they shared.
