PlayStation 5 gamers to get Xbox exclusive before Game Pass subscribers

PlayStation 5 gamers to get Xbox exclusive before Game Pass subscribers

In a bizarre turn of events

It’s hard to imagine, but depending on the final release date, it could end up that PlayStation 5 players get their hands on an Xbox title before some Game Pass customers will.

At Gamescom, Microsoft and Bethesda announced that the previously thought exclusive, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, will be coming to PlayStation 5 in the spring of 2025.

The new Indiana Jones adventure will be coming to PS5 after all and it's not far away either

With the recent changes to Xbox Game Pass, this could mean that some players get to play the new adventure game after it ships to PlayStation.

Unless Xbox Game Pass subscribers switch to the Ultimate tier of the service, they won’t get access to exclusive titles on day one.

This comes after a big shake-up for the service in recent months.

Depending on how the timings work out, the game could see its launch on PlayStation with many Game Pass subscribers unable to play.

Of course, this is purely speculation at this point as we don’t know the full release date for the game on Sony’s console.

Plus, Microsoft could time the launches to coincide with Game Pass Core users getting access on the same day.

The move to bring the Indiana Jones game to Sony’s PlayStation hardware is one of surprise, despite how open Microsoft has been this year.

It seems clear that Xbox wants more people to play their games knowing that to hold on to exclusivity means lower profits.

It makes business sense for the company to share their titles, particularly ones that will have mass appeal.

Indiana Jones is a pop culture icon and one who has been with many of us for many years after several films and video game appearances.

The new title comes from Machine Games under the Bethesda umbrella and stars Troy Baker as Indy.

Once the final release date is announced for PlayStation 5 we’ll know more, but it’s an exciting prospect for players.
