PlayStation owners are being treated to a freebie in order to apologise for an “inconvenience” following a new update.

Thank you in advance to Tyler Fischer over on Comicbook for the original source!

Infinity Nikki developers Papergames have just announced that they’re being treated to a freebie as a way of apology, as a recent update for the game, unfortunately, broke a few things for a lot of players.

“Infinity Nikki Version 1.1 [Shooting Star Season] has officially begun today,” the developers revealed in a Tweet, “After the update, we have received feedback from some Stylists regarding the mobile control system, specifically the change from the original joystick setting to Fixed Joystick.”

“We are actively addressing this issue. Once the fix is completed, Stylists who registered before the update will retain the original joystick control mode, while those affected after the update will be able to adjust the settings in-game via Pear-Pal under Settings > Controls > Joystick Mode to choose their preferred control style freely.”

To apologise for the issue, the developers stated that players will be granted a free gift once they next log in.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the above issues,” they continued, “Later, we will send Diamond*200 as compensation through email to all Stylists. Don't forget to check your inbox and claim it. Thank you once again for your understanding and support!”

Diamonds are Infinity Nikki’s version of in-game currency, which can be used to purchase either Resonite Crystals or Revelation Crystals.

These Crystals can then in turn be used to purchase new outfits, which is basically the main draw of the game, so the free reward is pretty decent.

Not bad for essentially having to do nothing, huh? Make sure you log in at some point in the next few days to claim it, just in case they eventually expire.
