As the headline suggests, PlayStation users can download and play a total of 10 titles for free.

If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, a new collection of free games are now available to you.

For those interested in learning more about each of the games, the PlayStation Blog offers a brief summarisation of all 10 titles.

You’ll have likely noticed that each one of the experiences mentioned are platformers.

While some gamers have always adored the jumping and dashing mechanics of these titles, others are new to the genre, having only experienced the likes of Astro Bot.

Having captured the hearts of PlayStation users last year, the award winning adventure has helped renew interest in platformers.

Some of the experiences will test your patience as you attempt to perfectly time your jumps, while others offer a more poignant playthrough.

Despite the odd gamer moaning about the age of these titles, the vast majority of PS Plus members are stoked to see these classic games getting the attention they deserve.

“Most of these are fantastic and people don't really hear about them (especially the co-op ones) when they ask for games because everyone recommends new stuff,” commented laynslay.

As they continued on to explain, these oldies are “still fun” and thus shouldn’t be overlooked because of their age.

The beauty of the above list is that these can be played solo, should you not be one for co-op adventures.

PlayStation Plus offers more than stellar platformers though, for there’s also other “great” experiences that fans are imploring their fellow gamers to play while they still can.

If you prefer platformers, you have more than enough titles to be getting on with thanks to PS Plus.

And if you prefer other genres, those are also available in abundance via the service.

In short, there’s something for everyone here.
