Fans are eager for the launch of GTA VI with its release date and second trailer yet to be revealed and some fans believe that the PS5 Pro could be to blame.
Before Rockstar Games unveiled the worst-kept secret in December 2023 with the first-ever Grand Theft Auto VI trailer, it was already one of the most highly anticipated video games ever. But yet, fans are wondering, where is the GTA VI release date and next trailer?

Rockstar Games had already announced that GTA VI would be released at some point in 2025 and that release window was eventually narrowed down to late that year. That being said, previous rumours have suggested that GTA VI has been in development for about 10 years, so what’s taking Rockstar Games so long?

Well, for starters, as we all know, the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series will be a massive game, not just in map size and gameplay but also with its gorgeous visuals, and that’s not taking into account all the preparation that goes into marketing such a juggernaut.
However, gamers on Reddit also believe that at least in some part, the unannounced PlayStation 5 Pro could be to blame. To be fair, there could be some truth behind that assumption because it wouldn't be surprising that behind closed doors, developers are already creating games with the PS5 Pro in mind.
Redditors were responding to a tweet by videotechuk_, an individual considered to be a leaker of information when it comes to Rockstar Games and has been a regular go-to for GTA and Red Dead Redemption-related stories in recent years.

When talking about a recent fan-made concept art image of a PS5 Pro and GTA VI console bundle, videotechuk_ asked a follower if they’ll upgrade to Sony’s announced machine.

When that follower replied saying they will first be waiting for GTA VI console upgrades, videotechuk_ said: “I have a big feeling Rockstar is holding out for Sony to reveal the console so they can include ‘Captured on PS5 Pro’ for the next trailer. They have a marketing deal with Sony it seems, again.”
“I thought the same thing recently when Rockstar Games didn’t add any information about GTA VI at the Take-Two Interactive financial meeting,” Reddit user Sharp-Effective-2030 explained. “I also think that Rockstar Games is waiting for the announcement of the new PS5.”
“If they do plan to market GTA VI on PS5 Pro with in-game cinematics/gameplay then they will definitely have to advertise huge disclaimers on the videos to avoid any online confusion,” claimed MrCodeman93.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in late 2025. A PC release is yet to be officially announced.
