Ghost Of Tsushima Free Download Available For Next 72 Hours

I suppose you could call this a sort of consolation prize?

PlayStation fans are being given one last chance to claim a Ghost of Tsushima freebie, mere days before Ghost of Yōtei’s official release.

If you’re excited for Sucker Punch’s big new release, then you may want to check out a free download for Ghost of Tsushima that’s currently available through the PlayStation Store.

However, you can only nab these by inputting a code through the store itself, so don’t waste any unnecessary time hunting through the storefront to find it.

With less than three days left until Ghost of Yōtei drops on October 2 for the PlayStation 5, the timing on this Ghost of Tsushima free download feels awfully strange.

Back in April this year, Sony officially revealed exactly when Ghost of Yōtei was going to release, which doesn’t seem too odd… until you realise how long this Ghost of Tsushima download has been available for.

As spotted by ComicBook’s Tyler Fischer, a bunch of Ghost of Tsushima dynamic themes for the PlayStation 4 can currently be claimed for free, regardless of whether you’re claiming them on PS4 or a PS5 (although they can only be used on the former system).

The weird thing is, from what I can tell, these free themes were announced roughly three years ago, even though the expiration date on them has always been October 3, 2025.

So, is this just weirdly coincidental timing? Or has Sony been planning to drop Ghost of Yōtei on basically the same date for three years?

Well, let’s not get too tinfoil-hat about it. I’m sure it's just a strange coincidence (unless October 3 has some kind of symbolic meaning for the series that I’m unaware of).

Regardless, that means you only have about three days left to grab these. Obviously, they won’t be much use to you on a PlayStation 5 (and I don’t see there being a chance of Sony suddenly making PS4 themes available on PS5 any time soon), but hey– free is free.

If you are on PS4 and you do want to nab them however, here are the codes: 5FM9-5LN6-FCM2 (Americas), 4PNM-4RNP-9C92 (Europe), 7CG-8DNC-BN6K (Asia), 8FLX-26NE-D9AA (Japan), and GHGR-L3N9-3DTQ (South Korea).

Hopefully there’s something similar on the way for Ghost of Yōtei to replace these once these themes expire at the start of next month, but don’t miss out on your chance to claim them either way.

It seems that this is the only way you can grab these dynamic themes, so once they’re gone, they’re gone for good!
