The team behind Days Gone, Bend Studio has reportedly had its next PlayStation 5 game killed before we even got to meet it.
Bend Studio has been a Sony developer for many years and has not only given us the open-world post-apocalyptic game Days Gone but also the likes of the Syphon Filter series and the criminally underrated PS Vita title, Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
Check out the Days Gone trailer below!
Released in 2019, despite having a rocky launch thanks to performance issues and bugs, Days Gone has garnered a cult following in recent years with fans desperate for Sony to greenlight Days Gone 2.

Sadly, there seems to be no sign of us being treated to Days Gone 2 anytime soon but we can all live in hope. However, other than the unlikely Days Gone sequel, Bend Studio had another game in the works but sadly, it seems we’ll never get to see what it was.
As reported by Comicbook.com (via Bloomberg), a yet-to-be-announced game that had already begun production has been cancelled by Sony. This game has reportedly been cancelled alongside a God of War title from Bluepoint Games as well as an unnamed other.
Bend Studio were also seemingly working on a new Uncharted game on behalf of Naughty Dog but it’s unlikely that game will ever see the light of day either, at least the game from Bend Studio.
We don't know why Bend Studio’s title was reportedly cancelled. It could have been due to poor quality or perhaps Sony just decided that it no longer wanted to use its expensive resources on the project, it’s anyone's guess.

It remains to be seen what the studio will be working on next but a small part of me not only hopes we’ll get Days Gone 2 but also a Syphon Filter revival. As optimistic as that might be.
Days Gone is out now on PC and PlayStation.
