Bloodborne fans are waiting with baited breath to see if the rumours of a remaster have any credibility to them.
When you look at all of the first-party exclusives PlayStation currently has in its portfolio Bloodborne stands out as one of the only games that hasn’t been upgraded for the PlayStation 5, an infuriating fact to many.

Now it can be argued that Sony Interactive Entertainment doesn’t feel like there’s a big enough audience for more Bloodborne. Why risk time and resources on a game that only appeals to soulsborne fans when you can score an easy win with a Horizon: Zero Dawn remaster instead?

Since Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree though there’s suddenly more interest in the genre and it sounds like PlayStation is finally willing to capitalise on that.
Aside from the company trying to buy FromSoftware’s parent company, fans have spotted the Bloodborne servers are being taken offline for maintenance.
This doesn’t mean anything by itself but eagle-eyed fans noticed it’s being taken offline on the same date shown during a recent PlayStation trailer, which could be seen hidden in the background.
Fans have obviously put on their tinfoil hats in the hope the two are connected, hoping now might finally be the time we get that Bloodborne remaster we’ve been waiting for.

Obviously you’re going to need a hefty handful of salt for this, as the servers should in theory have nothing to do with a remaster announcement but the coincidence is a bit too big to ignore.
That said, many fans are questioning why it should be a remaster and not a full-on remake akin to Demon Souls, or a sequel for that matter.
I sincerely hope the fans are right and the remaster is finally upon us, Bloodborne arguably needs it more than any of the other FromSoftware games and with the PS5 Pro available now it’s the perfect time to make it happen.
