If you are anything like me then you will often find yourself eager to boot up The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and return to a nostalgic, fantasy world.

However, with the Bethesda title heading towards its 15-year anniversary, it is safe to say that the majority of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim players have explored all the content it has to offer.

Check out the official trailer for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim below!

Luckily, its dedicated modding community refuses to let the 2011 title fade into obscurity by regularly releasing incredible free downloads for the game.

That includes this brand-new mod, which not only adds new content to Skyrim, but also bases it around the classic 2000 RPG Icewind Dale.

Developed by Black Isle Studios and based in the Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms, Icewind Dale was a 2D isometric title which can now be experienced in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

That means that, for the first time, players will be able to experience Icewind Dale in 3D and get to explore Kuldahar and the lands between as they journey to Easthaven.

Created by Arx Vallium, the synopsis for the TESV - Kuldahar mod reads as follows: “Our tale begins here, in the quiet fishing village of Easthaven One of the so-called Ten Towns of Icewind Dale, the tiny community is hardly a town, but rather a collection of ramshackle huts crowded together upon the icy shores of Lac Dinneshere."

It continues, "Here within a dimly lit tavern, a group of travellers sit huddled around a table, swapping tales and making grand plans for the future, completely unaware of the part they are to play in the events that are about to unfold. ”

The mod introduces brand-new areas to explore such as the quiet fishing town of Easthaven and the druid settlement known as Kuldahar.

There are also NPCs to strike up conversation with as well as 15 new weapons, enchanted items and a functional class system to get to grips with.

Its user wants to make it clear that this isn’t an Icewind Dale remake but rather a look at what the game could look like in the Skyrim universe.
