If you want to claim some classic video games that will be friendly to your PC system specifications, then you’re in the right place.
It’s always nice to claim a free video game, especially when it’s a beloved classic of yesteryear, but it’s even better when we can have three pieces of gaming goodness. One such classic goodness is from the PC retro series, Marathon which was originally released three decades ago in 1994.
Check out the Classic Marathon trailer below!
Here’s perhaps a little-known fact, the Marathon series was originally developed by Halo and Destiny studio, Bungie. However, it’s probably fair to say that this retro series may have been lost in time but if you’ve never enjoyed Marathon before (not the sprinting), then download, play and keep the trilogy for free today.

“Alien forces have boarded the colony ship UESC Marathon in the Tau Ceti system, in orbit around humanity’s first interstellar colony. The situation is dire, and as a security officer assigned to the Marathon, your duty is to defend the ship and its crew from the alien threat,” reads the synopsis of the original game on Steam.
“This classic 1994 Bungie FPS had a foundational influence on the genre and is now maintained by the fan community. Experience authentic gameplay using the original data files, with optional widescreen HUD support, 3D filtering/perspective, positional audio, and 60+ fps interpolation, just in case the original is too authentic.”

As brought to our attention by Twitter user Wario64, all three games are now available for free right now. We’re not sure how long they’ll be available but it might be wise to claim them now just in case it's too late. In the tweet posted by Wario64, there is a link that not only features three Marathon games but also free community-created DLC.
At the time of writing, the Marathon series isn't available on consoles but considering the age and the system requirements, they will barely put a dent on most modern PCs. So download today and enjoy a classic FPS series from simpler times.
