A major change has just landed in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, albeit courtesy of modders.
It’s no secret that this Bethesda title boasts an incredibly talented and dedicated modding community, and that’s a large reason as to why Skyrim has withstood the test of time.
Fair to say, new content isn’t exactly something Bethesda itself is cooking up, but fans have kept the game’s flame alive over the years, adding new mechanics, quests, companions, and even entire map areas.
It’s a good job too as, let’s face it, The Elder Scrolls VI isn’t set to land anytime soon - and Starfield, while a great game, just didn’t scratch the itch for many.

A recently added mod is a must-add for those who wish to push Skyrim to its graphical limits.
As reported by DSOGaming, modder PureDark has added support for Skyrim: Special Edition to allow for the use of the Intel XeSS 2.1 and NVIDIA DLSS 4.
That means that if you have a NVIDIA RTX-50 graphics card, you can now use DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Gen.
In Layman’s terms, the game’s graphics are about to get a whole lot better.

DSOGaming added that this is supposedly the only game to currently support the Intel XeSS 2.1, which is pretty impressive.
What I should stress is that this is a paid mod, so you’re probably only going to want to download it if you have the kit to get the most out of it.
Titled ‘Skyrim Upscaler All-In-One Build 01’, the mod is available via Patreon.
From what I can tell, PureDark offers £4 a month memberships (includes early access to test builds), or £8 a month memberships (the same benefits but just for those who wish to donate more).

If you pay annually, there is a 16% saving to be had.
There is much debate online surrounding paid mods but I’m certainly not going to venture into it here.
“This is the new AIO build features all three upscaling techs (DLSS/FSR3/XeSS) and all three framegen techs including DLSS Multi-frame Generation for RTX 50 and the new XeFG which works for all vendor's GPUs now,” the mod’s description reads.
“When selecting None as the Framegen method, it will work as upscaling-only and be free of the overhead of dx12 interop which FG requires.”

If you fancy giving it a go, you know what to do.
If you simply own a NVIDIA GTX or AMD GPU though, there are many other free options out there, so do keep that in mind.
