Be honest, how many of you are still scarred by the end of Mass effect 3? Although we secretly always knew it was never going to be rainbows and butterflies for Shepard, seeing their end still hurt.
It’s caused such pain that a mod has been created to change the fates of all our beloved characters involve, thus giving them the happy ending we’ve been longing for. If you’ve not played the third Mass Effect game, or have yet to complete it, for the love of God stop reading and go remedy your mistake.
Let's return to where it all began with Mass Effect Legendary Edition
‘MEHEM The Mass Effect 3 Happy Ending Mod’ might not be an imaginative title, but we care little for the creative of the mods wording, only whether it lives up to our expectations. The description reads, “MEHEM is a reinterpretation of the endings of Mass Effect 3, which introduces quite a few changes to the game's finale and – as the title suggests – will result in a brighter outcome for Commander Shepard (if your forces are strong enough).”

From there, the modder behind this free download goes into detail regarding the changes you can expect to see in BioWare’s legendary title. Unsurprisingly, this means that spoilers are inbound for all who decide to digest every, single detail. Here’s the cliff notes: the ending is less bitter-sweet now, “emphasis on ‘sweet’”.
“Woooow!! I just played this mod. I have tears in my eyes,” said one player. “Really, this mod is making this game so much greater. It is by far the best mod for this game I know of.”
As if this wasn’t joyous news enough, the recent Mass Effect 5 update we just got is music to our ears. Despite still knwoing few concrete details regarding its narrative, we do know that the development is in good, familiar hands.
The fate of Shepard isn’t set in stone, at least not when you’re a mod user. Therefore, it’s time to give the crew of the Normandy the ending they worked hard for and rightly deserved.
