I’m sure I’m not alone in wondering where that supposed director’s cut of Hogwarts Legacy is.
You may recall that last year, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier first revealed the project, reporting that Warner Bros’ had drafted in developers from Rocksteady to help following the disappointing launch of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.
Little else was said on what the extended edition of the game might include but presumably, it would have restored cut content such as the rumoured companion system, something Hogwarts Legacy fans have been longing for.

To date though, the director’s cut is yet to manifest.
With that in mind, the only way you can currently extend the Hogwarts Legacy experience is via mods on PC.
Yes, this excludes those of us playing on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, but it would be wrong of us to deny our PC counterparts a bonus dose of fun.
If you find yourself seeking the latter, then I’d like to direct your attention to ‘The Goblet Overhaul’, a holistic overhaul of the game that seeks to address rebalancing and immersion.

Enjoy a tour of Hogwarts’ four house common rooms, as it’ll take you four playthroughs to see them all.
‘The Goblet Overhaul’ has been created by NexusMods user 2077v2, utilising the works of fellow modder icouldifiwantedto including ‘Immersive Classes’, ‘Immersive Common Rooms’, and ‘Immersive Meals’.
Essentially, ‘The Goblet Overhaul’ allows users to pick from a number of presets: Goblet Easy, Goblet Vanilla Balanced, Goblet Vanilla Balanced + Vivarium, Goblet Nightmare, Goblet Unlock All, Goblet Inventory Booster, Immersive Tweaks Pack, and Goblet Cooldowns.

Each, as I said, is focused on rebalancing and immersion.
For example, if you activate Goblet Nightmare, enemy health is increased, as are item costs, whereas your own XP and damage will be decreased.
Certain spell cooldowns will increase for you too, basically making your life a whole lot more difficult.
Goblet Unlock All does what it says on the tin, unlocking all floo travel locations, increasing the availability of legendary gear, and increasing inventory and yield amounts, to name a few benefits.

I’m sure you get the idea. Easy will make your life, well, easier. Balanced is for those who seek a moderate experience.
The mod acts as an extension of the in-game difficulty setting.
As for the immersion, all of the above presets include the aforementioned works by modder icouldifiwantedto.
The modder has altered the behaviours of Hogwarts’ students and the townsfolk of Hogsmeade to make things a tad more realistic.

For example, NPCs will travel between common rooms, the Great Hall, and classes at the appropriate times, while staff will now gather in the Faculty Staff Room following dinner.
Prefects will assist with classes, while evenings will see students in common rooms change in their pyjamas.
Those are just a few of the adjustments. The patch notes for this mod are lengthy so I suggest you go peruse them at leisure.
The bottom line is that this is a fantastic mod, and I highly recommend you give it a whirl.
