A battle royale has been added to the OG Far Cry game, as well as other multiplayer features.
In comparison to the latest titles from Ubisoft, the OG Far Cry hasn’t aged the best, but as the game that kicked off the critically-acclaimed FPS series we owe it a lot.
Take a look at the classic Far Cry below.
If you’re thinking of revisiting the game on PC or even playing it for the first time, there’s an unofficial version that fixes a variety of problems the original release had, and it adds multiplayer.

It’s called the Far Cry Advanced Version developed by 3TOP TEAM, and aimed to optimise the game for a more modern audience as well as add some cool new features.
Without a doubt the most important addition is multiplayer, allowing you and your friends or random players to roam the island together as well as engage in PvP.
You can do this though the brand-new battle royale mode, though this is obviously subject to how many players are actually playing this version of the game.
Nevertheless when it works, it’s a fun time and an oddly fitting addition to the game.

You can find a YouTube video explaining where to find the Far Cry Advance Version mod as well as how to successfully install it online.
If Ubisoft doesn’t add a battle royale mode to Far Cry 7, something will feel off as out of every IP the developer owns, it’d make the most sense for the Far Cry series to get that sort of mode.
So if you’ve been feeling nostalgic for the roots of the Far Cry series or just fancy trying a brand-new feature in a 20-year-old game, this is definitely the mod for you, and the best part is it’s completely free-to-play.
