If you’re in the mood to experience some classic Fallout goodness you’re in luck, as one of the latest free games from GOG is one of Bethesda’s best.
Fallout fans have a lot to be excited about over the next few years. While Fallout 5 won’t be released for quite some time, fans can still look forward to a new-gen update for Fallout 4, more updates for Fallout 76 which is in the best state it’s been in since launch, and of course the upcoming Fallout TV series.

Though for those that would rather look back on Fallout’s past, allow us to recommend the first Fallout game, which is being offered as a free download by Cyberpunk 2077’s publisher CD Projekt Red via GOG.

If you’ve only played the games from Fallout 3 onwards, you should know the first two Fallout games are completely different beasts compared to what the series is nowadays. However fans will still get a kick from the familiar setting and spot-on humour, it’s just the controls they’ll need to grow accustomed to. If you’re a fan of Baldur’s Gate 3 you’ll feel right at home.
In order to claim the game you’ll need a valid membership to Amazon Prime. Once you’ve signed into one you’ll be able to claim the game through GOG and embark on Bethesda’s first post-apocalyptic RPG.
The original Fallout is well worth a go, if not for current fans to see where the series began and compare it to what it is now. Plus it’s free, so you can’t argue it’s a bad deal when it doesn’t cost a penny.
The alternative is replaying Fallout: New Vegas for the umpteenth time, which is also a valid option until the live-action show rolls around.
