Things are going to go bump in the night in fallout 4.

Okay, so in truth they kind of already do. There are Deathclaws roaming, Ghouls, Raiders, and all sorts of other creepy crawlies that are out for our blood.

But this new “scare” is different.

In time for Halloween, Fallout 4 fans can embark on a wild fan-made quest.

Anything is possible in Fallout 4

Unlike some tales which are designed to send a shiver down your spine, this mod is much more friendly in nature.

Just check out the name.

‘Pete The Friendly Phantom’. He’s got to be a nice spook because it literally says that he’s friendly.

Created by Commonwealth Story Expansion Project, this NexusMods download is a fun way to get into the Halloween spirit.

Described as the “dumbest mod” the team has ever made, Pete is a ghostly companion who delivers “goofy lines”.

But that’s not all, he also brings with him roughly half an hour of new content.

This “fun Halloween surprise” is available to download for free right now.

It won’t completely alter your experience of the game, but you’ll occasionally hear Pete’s interesting take on whatever events have befallen you.

This is a new mod, so there’s likely going to be bugs lurking around every corner. But come on now, that’s part of the fun.

While we’re on the topic of Fallout, did you know that Fallout is set to return much sooner than we thought?

It was news to us when we first heard about it too.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, a Fallout 2 remake teaser has left fans feeling reassured that the project is on the right track.

Even when Bethesda isn’t involved with all of these new additions, there’s still much depth and entertainment value to be found. Sometimes more so.

Pete's ready for Halloween, are you?
