Fallout 2 remake trailer leaves fans absolutely floored

Return to the vaults

Fallout fans should get really excited for this, as a team of modders is attempting to bring back the franchise's second game in Fallout 4.

At the time of writing, Fallout 4 is arguably still the best modern Fallout game we have, as Fallout 76 isn’t that fun if you’re not playing with other people, so those who aren’t fans of multiplayer games might not vibe with it.

We can’t deny the updates for Fallout 76 have been pretty good though, and there’s still more to come.

For the time being, I think the vast majority of Fallout fans are content with Fallout 4, at least until we get an update on Fallout 5.

In some of the latest news surrounding the game, a team of modders is taking on a monumental project, converting and remaking Fallout 2’s entire map in Fallout 4.

Fallout 4: Project Arroyo will bring the Black Isles back as a fully-explorable map, perfect for those who had fond memories of playing Fallout 2 on PC as well as those who never had the pleasure.

If you haven’t played the first two Fallout games by the way, you can do so through Steam, and while they show their age, I still think they’re worthy of playing nowadays.

The team behind the mod are pairing it with the Pip-Boy 2000 mod, which gives your character an even older, clunkier wrist device that still has a lot of functionality.

The Project Arroyo team teased the finished Fallout 2 remake will be around twice the size of Fallout 4’s map, so there’ll be a lot to see and do if you were getting bored of exploring the Commonwealth.

It’s certainly something to look forward to, and while there’s no release date in mind yet, keep an eye out for further updates throughout the year.
