Working on a game for over a decade will definitely leave a lasting impression on its development team which is why it is no surprise that one Morrowind developer has returned to work on the game after 20 years.

Released back in 2002, The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind is still considered as one of the best RPGs of all time and it sets the scene perfectly for Bethesda’s next project, Skyrim.

Now over 20-years since it was released, one designer and writer has returned to the game to work on an impressive mod after leaving the company years ago.

Douglas Goodall worked on Morrowind until its release before leaving Bethesda back in 2002. However, it seems as though he is not done with the RPG after it was recently reported he had returned to work on it courtesy of an expansive quest mod.

Under his NexusMods name AFFA and in collaboration with other modders, Goodall has created the Red Wisdom - An Ashlander Prophecy mod which sees players embark on a mystical journey.

“Embark on a mystical journey as you unravel the ancient prophecy of Red Wisdom,” reads the mod synopsis. “Join forces with wide-eyed Nirani to unlock the hidden truths that lie within the sacred burial sites of the tribes.

Explore a new angle to Ashlander lore, confront wild beasts and Daedric interlopers, and piece together the puzzle which may shape the fate of Morrowind.”

As well as getting to experience new writing by Goodall, players will gain access to brand-new locations such as “a grotto used by the Ahemmusa tribe to 'bury' their dead” and “exterior burial sites of the Erabenimsun and Zainab tribes.”

Additionally, there will be new trinkets, lore and achievements to earn and the quest itself will be integrated perfectly into the Morrowind story.

This mod and thousands others are available to download for free courtesy of NexusMods.
