The Elder Scrolls VI might not be arriving anytime soon, but we can play the next best thing, a wonderfully modded Skyrim dubbed 'Skyrim 2'.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was originally released in 2011 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, before being ported to every other console generation to date, the latest being PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

At this time, Bethesda hasn't let us know officially when The Elder Scrolls VI will arrive, despite being first announced back at E3 2018.

In just a few months, the highly anticipated fantasy RPG will have been announced seven years ago!
Thankfully, at least, while we pass the time until the sixth numbered entry in the series finally arrives, we can take advantage of the wonderful works of the modding community which helps inject new life into Skyrim to this day.
YouTuber Joov is known for taking on self-imposed Skyrim challenges such as ‘rags to riches’ and never being able to leave a certain region of the game while he embraces everything that the RPG has to offer.
In a video titled, “Finally ... Skyrim 2,” the creator has taken on a bold new challenge.

The video's description reads, “This is an educational tutorial on how to region lock yourself to Skyrim's "Reach" region to survive and advance within a limited sandbox.”
It continues: “I've put a few upgrades into my game that I think upgrade various aspects of the combat, physics, look and feel without losing what makes Skyrim great!”
Due to the vast series of mods implemented in Skyrim, which improve the visuals and overall gameplay experience, you can almost see why the creator dubbed this experience Skyrim 2, almost. It's not quite the next-gen experience we're hoping for in Bethesda's actual next project.

Sadly, there will never be a Skyrim 2, at least officially. But we can play this beloved classic RPG on most modern platforms and it’s included in Xbox Game Pass at no extra cost.
