Cyberpunk 2077 meets Blade Runner in jaw-dropping new free download

Streets ahead

You can get your hands on one of the most visually impressive demos released this year (which has some clear Cyberpunk 2077 influences to it) for completely free, and you may not even need a beefy computer to get the most out of it.

This news comes by the way of Dark Side of Gaming's John Papadopoulos, who also provided gameplay footage via YouTube.

Cyber Streets is a brand new tech demo from artist Sciontidesign, who released the Unreal Engine 5.5 title for free earlier this month.

Now before you get too excited, I hope we’re all on the same page about exactly what a “tech demo” is.

There’s not much to actually do in Cyber Streets, at least if you’re looking for gameplay. As the “tech” part of tech demo implies, this is supposed to serve more as a proof of concept in regards to Unreal Engine 5.5’s capabilities.

The Witcher IV is CDPR's next game.

Still, if you’re curious and you want to have a wander through it for yourself regardless, you can download the Cyber Streets tech demo via this Google Drive link supplied by Sciontidesign.

Alternatively, if you just want to have a look at what’s on offer, DSOG’s John Papadopoulos has uploaded a video detailing the sort of technically impressive marvels you can find in the demo.

If you’re worried that merely looking at the tech demo will make your computer explode, then don’t worry.

Papadopoulos notes the Cyber Streets tech demo doesn’t actually feature “Lumen, Path Tracing, RTX, DLSS, or baked lighting” and that it is supposed to serve as an example of what Unreal Engine 5.5 can pull off without any of its more advanced features.

Basically, as long as you’ve at least got a rig from some time in the 2020s, it sounds like you should be able to give this one a go (and get the most out of it at the same time).
