No Man’s Sky has released another colossal update that completely changes the game, and there’s still more on the way.

While Cyberpunk 2077 could certainly give it a run for its money, there’s no doubting No Man’s Sky’s redemption story has been one for the ages and it shows no signs of stopping any time soon.

For those who may have heard about No Man’s Sky but never played it, it’s essentially an open-universe exploration simulator, where you can travel the cosmos in your own starship, build bases, freighter fleets and partake in an endless amount of missions, including bounty hunts.

It’s received countless free updates since launch, with yet another now available to all players, this time taking advantage of new technology to overhaul planetary exploration and procedural generation.

Named the Worlds Part I update, the free download adds a new selection of procedurally generated worlds to the in-game universe’s sandbox.

It also makes several improvements to the game’s weather systems, allowing for more realistic planets thanks to changing tides, changes to flora and fauna and much more.

Players will be able to roam planets and see the direction the wind is blowing based on where it kicks up dust or moves nearby fauna, and even the clouds have been overhauled to appear more like living worlds with proper atmospheres.

Like every previous update since the game’s 2016 release date, Worlds Part I is a free download for all platforms.

Seems like that’s only the beginning as well, and while Hello Games is yet to tease what could be coming in Part 2 of the update, you can almost guarantee it’ll be another quality addition to the game.

No Man’s Sky can be played on PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch consoles, and can also be played with crossplay enabled.
