Pokémon fans still can’t seem to get over what Cloyster somewhat resembles and if you know, you know.
In 2024, there are 1,000 different Pokemon to catch, and that’s probably not counting the alternate forms some of them have and the shiny variations.

Given just how many there are to choose from, it’s hard to pick favourites or even determine the best designs of the bunch, but there’s one thing fans can agree on, Cloyster looks really weird.

Cloyster evolves from a Shellder, a small clam Pokemon which transforms into a bigger creature with a larger, pointier shell but still with a visible mollusk inside.
That being said, for years now fans have looked at the design and come to one simple and cursed conclusion, Cloyster looks like the female reproductive organs.
This idea has been brought up frequently ever since the Pokémon’s first debut, and it’s been brought up again in a Reddit thread by InquisitiveJellyfish.
The user asked fans if they can all “just take a moment to acknowledge the fact that the Pokémon Cloyster is basically a vagina?”

Responses were mixed, with many pointing out that if someone’s baby-maker does indeed look like a Cloyster, they need to seek medical help immediately.
One fan said, “Ok I dunno what your labia majora looks like, and there's certainly some room for anatomical variation, but if they look like that please see a gyno. Before you stab somebody.”
Another added “I, too, have a huge horn escaping from my labia minora.”
Yet another fan pointed out that the innuendo could even be intentional, or at least known of by the Pokémon Company as “in Heart Gold/Soul Silver there's a double battle with a young couple who have a Cloyster and an Onix. Fun fact.”

Cloyster isn’t the only Pokémon that resembles things it probably shouldn’t, but that’s an entirely different article.
