It's time to get battling

Nintendo Switch users can get their hands on a free Pokémon game which sees players take on the role of the most iconic little guy of all time.

First released in 2018 as a remake of the 1998 Game Boy RPG Pokémon Yellow, Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! are now free to download on the Nintendo Switch.

Check out the trailer for Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! below.

Players will get to journey through the Kanto region on an exciting journey as a rookie Pokémon Trainer. In standard Pokémon fashion, they will need to catch, battle and form ever-lasting relationships with other Pokémon as they go.

In Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!, players will get to team up with Pikachu himself on your adventure. Pikachu is able to learn secret abilities to use even outside of battle such as Chop Down, Sky Dash and Sea Skim which allow him to reach places you can’t.

As with any pet, you will be able to feed, pet and tickle Pikachu to increase your bond and not only that, you can dress him up in some adorable outfits, hairstyles and accessories.

If you would rather team up with Eevee, the same abilities apply so it’s up to who you think is the most adorable!

As you explore, you will come across other Pokémon which you can capture and use in upcoming battles. However, if you wish to practice your combat skills, you can head to Pokémon Gyms and practice with other Trainers.

With the goal to fill up your Pokédex, you can trade with other nearby friends but be aware that certain Pokémon are only available in the selected game. For example, Bellsprout, Vulpix and Meowth only appear in the wild in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!

With small towns, cities, mountains and seas to discover, there are endless things to do in these much-loved titles and they are free to download and try out right now courtesy of free demos on the Nintendo eShop.
