Nintendo Switch fans wanting something new to play, or just something to help pass the time with, shouldn’t miss out on this free title.
The Nintendo Switch has a vast library of games, many of which are well-worth your time, but my God can they be expensive.
That being said some games are just worth it, like Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door which releases later this month
We could sit here all day and debate the price of Nintendo cartridges, as well as predict what they’ll be like for the Nintendo Switch 2, but why do that when we can talk about some Nintendo freebies instead.

Admittedly freebies are harder to come across on Nintendo’s platforms compared to Xbox and PlayStation, as well as PC if you’ve got Steam, but they are there if you know where to look.
The freebie we’re talking about today though is quite a popular one, Tetris 99, a battle-royale version of the beloved puzzle game that’s actually the best-selling game, ever.
It’s a unique take on the series, where you play Tetris as normal but everytime you break a group of blocks more blocks get transported to one of your opponents games.
This adds a bit more urgency than your standard games, and even a bit of strategy as you hold off until more line blocks can be broken.

Eventually the numbers start to dwindle until only a handful of players are competing for the victory royale.
It’s a lot of fun and has had multiple crossovers with other Nintendo IPs, adding new levels and themes to the game.
However the best part about Tetris 99 is it’s completely free, and you can play it as much as you like too. There are microtransactions but you obviously don’t have to bother with them if you don’t want to.
Tetris 99 is available now for all Nintendo Switch users, it’s great for competitive players, as well as a great way to pass the time.
