Nintendo Switch drops free downloads you've 48 hours to nab

Don't miss out

Nintendo Switch gamers take note: you've just 48 hours left to get your mitts on a new round of free downloads. The pressure is on.

Not that there's much actual pressure involved in taking out your Switch and turning it on so you can download some free bits, to be fair. I'd argue the whole thing should be fairly easy as far as experiences go.

Unless your Switch has been stolen by a family of bears, in which case you've a fight on your hands as well as a race against time.

Nintendo fans will probably be aware by now that the Switch has a revolving selection of profile icons and avatars that can be purchased with points earned by playing games (so basically free).

At the time of writing, there are just 48 hours remaining to grab a fresh selection of Super Mario-themed cosmetics before the lineup changes again, so let that be a warning to any completionists out there.

Not that I've met a single person who really cares about getting every last one of these Switch profile icons, especially with the Switch 2 seemingly closer than ever.

Many fans believe the Switch 2 is going to be announced before the end of 2024 and released in the first half of 2025, but given we're now halfway through October 2024 it's looking like the Switch 2 reveal might not coming as soon as we'd imagined.

Switch fans should also note Nintendo recently dropped two Game Boy Advance bangers that you can download and check out free if you're subscribed to the online service.

Plenty to keep us occupied until Nintendo shares anything concrete with us, then.
